New Drapes: Smith Pivlock V90

It is that time of year again. All of the teams are getting their new sponsored equipment in and it is time to test it out.

Here we have the Smith Optics Pivlock V90. It has an innovative design which eliminates the need for a traditional frame. The nose piece and ear arms attach directly to the lens.

It comes in a really nice package that is quite sturdy and does a good job of making sure if your case gets sat on that you aren't out a pair of sunglasses.

Out of the box there are three types of lenses. The clear one is great for rainy days, the tinted is good for cloudy, and the dark ones are good for sunny days.

It is quite simple to change lenses. All you really need to do is rotate the ear arms up 45 degrees and replace on another lense. Nose piece comes off by pinching it just a bit.

In the end, I think they are a great set of racing glasses. I had them on for a while and the lens quality was so good and the weight was so minimal that I forgot I even had them on. Oh yeah, and they make me look like a bad ass.

Good work Smith!

  1. We're sporting the smiths as well. Love 'em so far. Hardly feel them on the face.
